Pure Energy Systems News & Announcements

Thursday, September 4, 2008 - 11:25

We have a previously unscheduled (well, unscheduled prior to today) maintenance window for Srv3 scheduled for Thursday, September 4th at 4:00pm - 6:00pm CDT.

We anticipate that actual downtime for the machine should be less then 30 minutes, but the exact start time will be dependent upon the technicians in the Data Center.

This window is to replace the RAM modules in srv3, we hope to rectify the recent problems we have been experiencing with the server.

Today our "Resources" section of the website received a nice little boost with the addition of Video Tutorials for cPanel; a collection of 31 flash-based videos to help clients learn their way around the cPanel system.

We look forward to continuing to expand the Resources section of website, providing more content and help for webmasters everywhere over the upcoming months.

MySQL has been upgraded across all servers to v5.0.51a This upgrade finally jumps us away from the legacy v4 branch and brings with it many new improvements and tweaks.

While there was a snag on one server that resulted in a approximately 15 minutes of unscheduled problems with that particular server (php content was not being served properly), overall the upgrade went smoothly and we are looking forward to continued improvements from the MySQL team.

We are pleased to announce that after quite a bit of time, planning, and coding work, the newly designed Pure Energy Systems website is being launched today. While the most obvious result of this is a (much needed) new look and feel for the website, there are some other important changes involved that we felt we needed to let everyone know about.

1) The old faqs.purenrg.com, and support.purenrg.com sites will both be going offline shortly. The functionality of both these sites has already been integrated into the new Pure Energy website.

Tomorrow we will begin the process of replacing ns3.purenrg.com, one of the namservers used for client domains. The new ns3 has been online for the last week, quietly staying sync'd with ns4.purenrg.com and servicing those requests we have sent it's way while testing to insure everything was up to speed.

Tomorrow we will update the nameserver record for ns3.purenrg.com, to point it to the IP address of the new machine ( 208.43.104.254 ), and over the weekend all dns traffic for client domains should drift away from the old server and over to the new one.
